About Goryokaku in Saku City

Goryokaku, located in Saku City, is a valuable historical site with a historical background at the end of the Edo period. This star-shaped castle was built in 1864 under the direction of Saku feudal lord Yoda Sanai. Goryokaku, which incorporates French castle-building techniques, is a very interesting example of Japanese defensive architecture.
